We start by chatting AR and VR. Apple has a huge even happening soon on their new campus. Everyone suspects that they will likely reveal the new iPhone but could they also be revealing something with AR or VR given that they have a AR kit and the iPhone 7 has a double lensed camera? While on the topic of AR/VR, Matt talks about how he was introduced to VR. As an educator, with a game background, he has been working closing with emerging technology and has tutorials online on how to get your start in VR through Substance Painter, Unreal, Nuke and other software. Based in Chicago he is at the forefront of the emerging VFX and AR/VR industry. The Mill, Method and Framestore all now have offices in Chicago.
Matt got his start by pursuing an art direction degree at Columbia College and was quickly working at Midway games with many titles under his belt including Mortal Combat. He has worked in the animation department, technical rigging and Cinema4D specialized artist. He also worked on many commercials as well as a Spike Lee film. Now as an educator that focuses on actual production experience he has also added the feature films: Thrill Ride, Chicago Rot as well as the Robot vs Versus short.
